Engagement sessions are a great way to start your collection of personalized art in your home. These images can be used in many ways, such as for save-the-date cards, for social media announcements, as artful gifts to supportive family members, and as material for guest books and slideshows. They’re also a great way to put your mind at ease by familiarizing yourself with how I direct and shoot.
What should we wear?
Honestly, this is an easy one. Wear whatever you feel great in! Some clients dress up to have a more high-fashion look to their images, while others gravitate towards a more casual style. My goal is to capture images you’ve been dreaming of, so feel free to match your wardrobe with whatever that looks like for you.
Where should we go?
Think about the things you two like to do together. Is there a spot that’s particularly special for the two of you? Many couples choose to shoot more intimate sessions taking place in the comfort of their own home. Some decide to go out to their favorite coffee shop or brewery in town. The choices are really endless! The most important part is that it makes sense to the two of you and that you have a connection with the location.
When should we schedule?
If you want to use these images for things like announcement material, it’s suggested that save-the-dates go out 6-8 months before the wedding date. Just another reason to choose your wedding photographer early, especially if wedding photography is a priority of yours. I have a number of professional announcement designs ranging from boutique-cut to foil-stamped cards. Clients love that I make it so easy to check another item off of their to-do list!
Do I have to order products through you?
No, but I bet you’ll want to! After seeing the professional-quality gallery wrapped canvas prints, folio boxes, and signature session albums that I offer, many clients decide that it’s worth the investment to create these keepsakes at a far higher quality than printing through a typical print shop.
What are travel costs?
If your wedding is happening over 2 hours away from the Twin Cities area or if it requires a flight, travel costs will apply. Destination weddings are generally 2 nights hotel and a round trip flight out of MSP airport.
How to we book out our date?
Reserving your date requires a 20% reservation deposit. We’ll discuss which package will best suit your wedding and then I’ll send a formal booking proposal to you with payment information. Wedding dates are offered at a first-come, first-served basis which means your date is open to all other inquiries until your proposal is signed and the retainer is paid.
